From 2000-2004, KIR was one of the Internet's leading discussion communities for freethinkers, rationalists, atheists, agnostics, skeptics, and other
"realists." With over 2 million hits and 100,000 posts (up to 400 per day at its peak), KIR set a new standard for the critical thinking community on
EZboard, and was instrumental in the development of several other venues. KIR officially closed in 2004 after a period of declining activity.
