Don't you think that the sea men would object to becoming an ingredient in someone's dinner? And, if we cannibalize all the sea men, who will man our
boats?

Wouldn't the consistency and flavor vary based on individual, previous diet and other factors, making for a pretty inconsistent ingredient?
"Nothing can hold you back - not your childhood, not the history of a lifetime, not even the very last moment before now. In a moment you can abandon your past. And once abandoned, you can redefine it. If the past was a ring of futility, let it become a wheel of yearning that drives you forward. If the past was a brick wall, let it become a dam to unleash your power. The very first step of change is so powerful, the boundaries of time fall aside. In one bittersweet moment, the sting of the past is dissolved and its honey salvaged." --Tzvi Freeman

Maybe one needs to sample it first to determine its quality. I also wonder about storage problems. Considering it might take a while to accumulate enough to
really do much of anything with, how long until it spoils? Should one refrigerate this "ingredient"?
I guess these are the kinds of questions the book might answer. |

What the devil? DYC, are you having "a moment?"

I think Dan Savage mentioned this very book -- and certainly the same
idea -- in a column not too long ago. (His is by far my favorite newspaper-style column to read, and really the only one I read regularly).

Well I think that it might be fun preparing the ingredients, I'm not to sure about the consumption, with social stigmas and all. Um, however if one is
attempting a hors de vours revenge, the book might be perfect. The best part would probably be the whole new line of jokes that could come from this exotic
culinary art. such as:
are you sure you want the sticky rice??? and 7-layer burrito my ass. I worked all day, the most i can muster is a 3-layer burrito. and this might bring new meaning to kitchen aids. or Did you say there is cumin in this...... That's all I can think of for now. |
